Treatment of Lipoedema

WHAT IS LIPOEDEMA?

Lipedema is a chronic disorder of the adipose tissue where the superficial smaller lymph vessels, blood vessels and nerves are affected. Lipoedema is most likely a hereditary disease. Lipoedema largely affects only women and usually breaks out in connection with hormonal changes such as puberty, childbirth or menopause. Only a few men have been reported to have lipoedema.

At the onset of the disease, the body’s fat cells increase in size and the person increases in size, especially over the buttocks, hips and thighs. At a later stage, the arms can also be affected.

Lipoedema is often diagnosed as obesity, although there are several clear signs that distinguish lipoedema from obesity. Lipedema is sometimes confused with lymphedema, but differs in several ways. Among other things, lipoedema – unlike lymphedema – is symmetrically widespread on both sides of the body.

WHAT TREATMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR LIPOEDEMA?

Lymphatic therapy
In lipoedema, the capacity of the lymphatic system in adipose tissue is reduced and needs continuous activation to work more efficiently. Daily deep breathing and manual self-lymph drainage together with other methods included in the concept of LYMPH THERAPY or Combined Physical Edema Therapy (KFÖ) have a positive effect on swelling and pain.

Lymphatic therapy consists of five parts, all of which can be performed at home.
Deep breathing exercises, physical activity, manual lymphatic drainage, compression and skin care.

Anti-inflammatory diet
Dr. Karen Herbst, an endocrinologist and associate professor at the University of Arizona, has found that people with lipoedema get inflammation in the adipose tissue after consuming various foods. She recommends reducing gluten, red meat, dairy products and removing all processed foods. Reference: Dr. Karen Herbst

Other treatment methods
Compression pump (lymph pressure), Laser, Deep Oscillation, LPG, Surgery (liposuction)

OUR TREATMENT METHOD FOR LIPOEDEMA

We treat lipoedema with a combination of cold green laser, vibration plate and andullation massage. The green laser creates a temporary pore in the fat cell to break down and release intracellular fluids, triglycerin. Vibration plate and andullation massage help your body transport these ‘free fatty acids’ out of the body via the lymphatic and circulatory system.

The treatment is completely painless and you feel nothing. By not freezing, burning or removing your essential fat cells that are part of the endocrine system, the body’s energy balance is not disturbed. We thus avoid the body compensating with more fat than in, for example, surgery. In a liposuction, which in addition to everything that an operation entails, you also damage parts of the lymphatic system. Green laser as a method is thus a healthy and completely natural process – we empty your fat cells, but keep them intact and alive without disturbing the body.

Studies show that high blood fats are lowered, inflammation is reduced and the body’s own healing & recovery is boosted, thanks to increased energy production in the mitochondria. It is a painless non-surgical treatment with cold laser that has no negative side effects.

We have a special arrangement for treatments for Lipoedema patients. Welcome to book a free consultation and we will tell you more!
