Microneedling

We at A Beauty Light work with microneedling in Stockholm, Södermalm. A microneedling treatment results in an instrument equipped with sterile disposable needles making thousands of holes in the skin with an automatically vibrating function. When the micropen is moved over the surface of the skin, it stimulates new production of natural collagen, at the same time as microchannels are created in the skin. The channels increase the skin’s absorption capacity of nutrients and moisture. This ensures an effective absorption of the treatment preparations we use, which then penetrate deep into the skin. The skin’s production of natural elastic components increases. The structure of the skin improves and rejuvenates, both in terms of the top layer of skin and deeper down in the dermis.

Microneedling effectively treats i.a. scar tissue, tired and dull skin, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

Microneedling | A deep medical treatment

Medical Micro Needling treatment is performed using the micropen. A sterile disposable cartridge consisting of small pointed applicators (maximum length 2.5 mm) creates a deep scrub that can perform a strong mechanical renewal of the skin thanks to the stimulation of the epidermis “stratum corneum.

A deep medical needling for the treatment of:

Skin rejuvenation, fine lines and wrinkles. Pigmentation and sun damage. Rosacea, superficial blood vessels. Stretch marks. Large pores. Acne & Acne Scars. Militia.

– First we clean the skin and restore the ph value.
– Then we perform a chemical peel, Fillmed by Filorga Light-peel, and sterilize the skin.
– During the microneedling itself, we add medical serum – Vitamin cocktail*.
– Finally, a moisturizing face mask to restore balance and calm skin irritation and LED light.

ATTENTION! Anesthetic ointment such as Tapin or Emla is recommended to be applied 20-30 min before the treatment. This can be bought at Apoteket without a prescription.

Important – Be careful with the aftercare. Read instructions below. Usually 3-5 treatments are needed for a good and long-lasting result. That is why we always recommend that you do a course.

Microneedling in combination with PRX T-33

Microneedling can also be combined with PRX T-33, which is a TCA peel that you can read about here.

Good to know about microneedling

During the first 24-48 hours. After treatment, the skin is red and warm. Avoid touching the skin. Also avoid sun, sauna, exercise and the like. Also, do not use make-up.

Avoid active products containing AHA, BHA, or PHA acids, retinoids, alcohol, or hydroquinone for at least one week after your treatment. Also avoid other skin care treatments, including fillers, lasers or peels. Use sunscreen specifically for the face (regular sunscreen is too greasy and can cause acne) if you are staying outside even if the sun is not there.

We recommend using a recoverycream morning and evening and feel free to lubricate yourself as soon as you feel dry or stiff.

After a treatment with

Microneedling:
Redness and / or swelling is often seen for 12-48 hours depending on how sensitive the skin is. You’re red when you leave here. Minor bleeding often occurs. It can also be hot or stinging on the face. Most can return to normal activities the day after treatment. You are fully recovered within 4-5 days.

General recommendation for microneedling treatments:

Luster / refreshment: If necessary, every 3-4 weeks
Skin rejuvenation: 3-4 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart
Acne scars: 4-8 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart
Stretch marks: 4-8 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart
Pigmentation: 4-6 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart

Usually you see results already after the first treatment. More lasting results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments (performed at 2-8 week intervals). Your skin condition will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and in combination with recommended skin care products. The treatment result also depends on your skin age and skin care afterwards.
