CRYOPEN TREATMENT
Freezing with Cryopen - Everything you want to know
Here we answer all questions about treatment with Cryopen. If you have further questions, please contact us. You are also welcome to book a free consultation.
How does stain removal / age warts work with Cryopen?
With Cryopen we freeze with 55 bar pressure down the stain / wart to -89c which breaks the cells and destroys it. Several treatments may be needed, but often one or two is enough. Each treatment usually takes between 10-30 seconds.
To think about at the marks on the face
We can also remove marks on the face. However, we want you to be aware that there will usually be some new form of brand left.
* You can get a pigment change. That is, a lighter or a darker shade at the treatment area. They can remain for a few months and in some cases for a much longer time.
* If you have very dark skin, the risk of hyperpigmentation (lighter spots) is higher than for others.
* After the treatment, a crust forms. This must be allowed to remain as long as possible. If you are there and peel it off, you risk irritation and infection which can cause scarring.
* When the skin is newly formed, it often turns red or pink. It may take some time before it heals completely.
We do not recommend removing marks on the face during the summer.
What to consider before removing stains / warts with Cryopen?
No special preparations are needed for a cryopen treatment. However, we recommend not removing marks in e.g. face or other frequently exposed surfaces during summer time.
What is best to remove with the cryopen are marks or skintags that really bother you. That is, they stick out, are in the way, are big, disturbs you, etc. Age warts work very good.
Small marks or marks that are very visible, for example on the face, you should think about whether it is really right to remove. You are always at risk of getting a new type of mark or scarring.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: It is of utmost importance that you yourself are sure that your “spots” are benign. If you are at all unsure, you must contact a doctor and get a statement. The treatments we perform are only of a cosmetic nature.
What to think about after treatment with Cryopen?
Shortly after the treatment, the area will begin to darken. After a few days, it is often completely black. There may be an increase around the area and in some cases a blister may occur. A crust will form and it is important not to peel it. The longer it stays the better. If you peel off the crust, you risk a minor scarring. You should not expose the area to sunlight, it can cause pigment changes. The new skin that is formed after the removal of stains / warts needs to heal in peace and quiet. It takes 2-6 weeks before the skin heals but it takes additional time before it has fully recovered .
The wound/damage caused by the cryop should be treated like any other minor wound. That is, try to keep it clean and dry and let it air out if possible. If it becomes inflamed, we recommend that you apply an antiseptic cream such as LHP 1%.
Note. Some larger marks take longer to heal, as do marks that sit in exposed places where it can rub, e.g. under bra straps, arm & knee folds, intimately, etc.
Return visit after treatment with Cryopen
If necessary, the price for a treatment with us includes a return visit (must be done within 9 months). A new treatment must be done no earlier than one month after the first.
What results can I expect from a treatment with Cryopen?
You should be able to count on getting rid of the stain itself. Often only one treatment is required, but several may be needed for a satisfactory result. When you buy a treatment one follow-up treatment are included in the price. However, we want you to be aware that there will usually be some new form of brand left. New skin first turns red / pink and then usually fades and turns white.
Does it hurt to remove stains, skintags, age warts with Cryopen?
Most stains do not hurt. You feel that it gets cold and a slightly rushing / stinging feeling arises. It may sting slightly immediately after the treatment and after 10-15 minutes it may itch slightly.
However, the treatment with Cryopen is so fast and simple that no anesthesia is needed.
Can everyone be treated with Cryopen?
Cryopen is a very gentle treatment but there are some conditions where we do not treat.
* We do not treat patients with Type 1 Diabetes except in exceptional cases.
* We do not treat patients undergoing chemo or radiotherapy, this applies from 4 weeks before starting therapy until 4 weeks after stopping therapy.
* We do not treat during pregnancy and lactation.
* We do not treat if you are cold allergic.
* We do not treat if you suffer from vascular disease.
In short – We only treat healthy people. Diseases, medications, hormones and allergies that we mentioned above negatively affect the body’s healing ability. If you suffer from any of these, we refer you to healthcare.
Is there an age limit for treatment with Cryopen?
No, there is no age limit for treatment with Cryopen. On the other hand, we require a parent’s permission to treat minors and here with us at A Beauty Light we do not treat children (under 13 years of age).
Do you assess whether my stain is dangerous?
No. We only work with the removal of stains of a cosmetic nature.
Assessment of skin blemishes may and should only be done by licensed and trained doctors and dermatologists. If you are at least a little unsure about your spot, you must contact your health center for a statement before treatment.
At your health center, you can get help with larger troublesome spots or spots of a dubious nature. If, on the other hand, they consider that the stains are only cosmetically disturbing, they will refer to private clinics. Then you are warmly welcome to us and we will help you!
Are there any risks and side effects with a Cryopen treatment?
Although Cryotherapy is a relatively low-risk treatment, there are some side effects that can occur.
* You can get a pigment change. That is, a lighter or a darker shade at the treatment area. They can remain for a few months and in some cases they can stay .
* If you have very dark skin, the risk of hyperpigmentation (lighter spots) is higher than for others. This should be taken into consideration primarily when treating the face, hands and décolleté.
* After the treatment, a crust forms. This must be allowed to remain as long as possible. If you are there and peel it off, you risk irritation and infection which can cause scarring.
* You can get numbness. Where applicable, a temporary state of lost sensation has occurred on the treatment surface. This has been experienced on the fingers, at the ankles and behind the ears. Follow-up of the symptoms has shown that this has disappeared after a couple of months.
* A treated area usually gets hair loss. That is, the surface where the stain itself has been sitting will not grow hair on. There is simply no hair follicle on the new skin that the body produces.
* Other possible but very rare side effects
Edema – a slight swelling, blistering. A minor bleeding. Pain and fainting. Disorder of surrounding tissue. Cartilage defect when treating the nose or ear. Conjunctival ectopy in eyelid treatment. Atrophic or hypotrophic scars.
