The Alexandrite laser has long been the “gold standard” for permanent hair removal, thanks to its wavelength of 755 nm which has a very high affinity for melanin in the hair follicle. With Motus AX and Moveo technology, DEKA has taken the classic Alexandrite laser and solved its biggest drawbacks: pain, limited skin type and risk of side effects at high fluence.

What is Alexandrite Moveo?

Alexandrite Moveo is not a wavelength of its own, but a way to deliver Alexandrite light (755 nm) in a smarter way. Instead of single powerful shots from a distance, the Moveo handpiece works:

  • in direct contact with the skin via a sapphire tip
  • with lower fluence per pulse, but many fast pulses
  • with in-motion technology, where you sweep over a defined area

This means that:

  • more of the energy is absorbed into the skin instead of being reflected away
  • the hair follicles are gradually heated to destructive temperatures
  • the skin is protected by continuous cooling via the sapphire tip

Why Motus AX is different from traditional Alexandrite

Wavelength 755 nm – why it matters

Alexandrite 755 nm has:

  • very high absorption in melanin
  • lower absorption in water than Nd:YAG

This makes it particularly effective on:

  • hairs that diode lasers sometimes have difficulty reaching
