THINGS TO THINK ABOUT AFTER THE TREATMENT

The wound/injury caused by cryopen should be treated like any other small wound. That is, try to keep it clean and dry and let it air out if possible. If it becomes inflamed, we recommend that you apply an antiseptic cream such as LHP 1%.

Note. Some larger marks take longer to heal, as do marks that are in exposed places where they can rub, such as under bra straps, arm & knee creases, intimate areas, etc.

Although Cryotherapy is a relatively low-risk treatment, there are some side effects that can occur.

*You may experience a change in pigmentation. That is, a lighter or darker shade in the treatment area. They may remain for a few months but they can also remain. Often there will be a white spot where you removed something.

*If you have very dark skin, the risk of hyperpigmentation (lighter spots) is higher than for others. This should mainly be taken into account when treating the face, hands and décolleté.

*After the treatment, a crust forms. This must be left in place for as long as possible. If you pick at it, you risk irritation and infection, which can lead to scarring.

*You may experience loss of sensation. In some cases, a temporary state of loss of sensation on the treatment area has occurred. This has been experienced on fingers, ankles and behind the ears. Follow-up of the symptoms has shown that this has disappeared after a couple of months.

*A treated area usually experiences hair loss. This means that the area where the spot itself was located will not grow hair. There is simply no hair follicle on the new skin that the body produces.

*Other possible but very rare side effects
Edema – a small swelling, blister. A minor bleeding. Pain and fainting. Disturbance of surrounding tissue. Cartilage defect when treating the nose or ear. Conjunctival ectopia when treating the eyelid. Atrophic or hypotrophic scars.
